Interior Design Project – Paris Caulaincourt

Complete Renovation of a 30 m² Apartment

Turnkey Project

→ Paris – Caulaincourt 18th District

The driving force behind the interior design: space optimization and the element of surprise.

This Parisian apartment underwent a complete renovation, based on opening up the spaces to create a greater sense of visual openness and to allow natural light to flow throughout the apartment.

→ Through the use of bold tones, hidden spaces, and strong color contrasts, the design concept sought to introduce the notion of surprise—one of the key principles of biophilic architecture that I embrace in my projects.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic spaces have become both homes and workplaces. The main design challenge was therefore flexibility.

An open kitchen was created within the living area, with a central island that functions both as a kitchen workspace and a dining table. This approach freed up floor space and optimized the overall layout. Independent WC facilities were added, along with an open bathroom offering direct access from the bedroom.

→ The renovation was carried out shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic, at a time when the client was required to work from home. In response, a concealed workspace was designed within a living room cabinet—another element of surprise, finished in grey on the exterior and red on the interior.
