Interior Design – Paris Gare de Lyon

Full Renovation of a 110 m² Private Apartment

Turnkey Project

→ Paris – Gare de Lyon

The layout of this 110 m² Parisian apartment was completely redesigned to accommodate the clients’ brief.

The main challenge of the interior design was to create space for an additional bedroom while enlarging the existing ones. Another key objective was to significantly increase storage space, which was almost nonexistent in the original layout.

To achieve this, the bathroom was relocated to the former kitchen area, while the kitchen was moved into the living space. The former bathroom was then transformed into a new bedroom.

As a result, the apartment evolved from two to three bedrooms.

The guiding principles of the design were contrast, mystery, and space optimization.

The contrast between historic and contemporary elements—fundamental to all my projects—played a central role. Original wall and ceiling moldings were highlighted, the living room fireplace was preserved, and the original parquet flooring was restored. This historical framework allowed the character of the apartment to be enhanced through the introduction of modern materials and furniture, as well as contemporary finishes such as polished concrete and terrazzo flooring.

In the living room, a wooden slat opening adds an element of mystery, inviting one to sense what lies beyond without fully revealing it.

As for the construction phase, the major challenge was to meet a particularly tight deadline: four and a half months.
We successfully delivered the project within this timeframe.
